I did not kill the cow;
I did not kill the calf!
My tastes are more profound;
You almost make me laugh!

I did not destroy your herd;
The thought is quite absurd.
I would not even think of it;
If my habitat lines werent blurred.

You claim game numbers are too low;
But, you are the cause of them you know.

And ranchers spin their tales,
hunters lie right through their teeth;
How elk numbers cant prevail.

You ranchers poisoned my children and then you shot my mate;
For them help just came too late!

And hunters slaughter us in horrid ways;
Snares keep us trapped for several days.

You treat nature without regard;
Now the wilderness bears your scars.

When you have succeeded in your task;
To rid the wolf at last.

You will find yet one more reason;
To have your killing season.

Your prey will know the strain;
Of living life under your tyrants reign.

You mislead others with folklore;
That the wolf is evil and at their door!

You claim you have been stalked,
While taking your dogs for a walk;
But, truth is Im too weary of you, to lend truth to that talk.

It does little to tell you-you are wrong;
But you will be sorry when our kind is gone!

Your government possess the cogs to the deals;
In backrooms, politicians grease the wheels.

Another scheme fuels the machine;
Environmental restoration is never what it seems.

Wolf advocates and scientists alike,
are filled with such desire;
Remaining entrenched to find the fix, exposing all the liars.

But, alas it is too late,
Our survival cannot wait.
Until such time man realizes,
Our worth and learns to compensate!
